This week marks the release of something we’ve been working towards for some time — the first whisky bottled under the Knockhill name.
The House Blend – Peat №1 has been created by our master distiller, John McDougall, as an early expression of the style of whisky we enjoy and the direction we’re looking towards for the future. While our own spirit will take years to mature, this blend gives us the opportunity to share something now and begin building the character of Knockhill whisky.
The blend brings together carefully selected malt whiskies to create a balanced but characterful dram. Bottled at natural cask strength of 54.2% ABV and limited to just 260 bottles, it’s a whisky with plenty of presence — subtly smoky, rich and full of depth.
For us, this release is also about setting the tone. It reflects the influence of John’s decades of experience across Scotland’s distilling regions and offers a small glimpse into the flavour profile we’re excited to explore once our own spirit begins to mature in the years ahead.
The House Blend – Peat №1 will make its first appearance at the Fife Whisky Festival, where we’re looking forward to sharing it with whisky lovers from across the region and beyond.
It’s an early step for Knockhill Distillery, but an exciting one — and we’re proud to finally have our first whisky out in the world.
